Community Appeal: East Valley Womenâs League in Search of New Home for Cinderella Affair
For over two decades, the East Valley Womenâs League has transformed the dreams of attending prom into reality for high school juniors and seniors through its annual Cinderella Affair, offering free prom dresses and accessories.
This cherished event faces an uncertain future after this year, as the league has been notified of the loss of its lease on The Castle in Chandler, the venue that not only hosted the giveaway but also served as a year-round storage for the myriad of gowns and accessories.
Despite this setback, the event will proceed as scheduled on April 6 and 7, welcoming any junior or senior girl with a school ID to select a gown and accessories at no cost.
The Cinderella Affair has been a beacon of hope, enabling thousands of girls to experience the magic of prom without the financial burden. The event's possible discontinuation stems from the logistical challenge of finding a new space that can accommodate the vast collection of donated items throughout the year.
The East Valley Womenâs League, a group of about 45 women dedicated to various charitable endeavors, finds itself in need of a new space following the sale of The Castle, which has been their base for the last eight years.
In its 22-year history, the league has made a significant impact, raising over $1.7 million and aiding over 40,000 individuals, including providing over 10,000 high school girls with the opportunity to attend prom.
The league is actively seeking a hero who can donate or sponsor a new venue, ideally spanning 5,000 to 8,000 square feet, within the Southeast Valley to continue its mission without diverting funds from charitable projects to rent.
As the league forges ahead with its other charitable initiatives, it remains hopeful that a generous benefactor will emerge, allowing the Cinderella Affair and other programs to continue making a difference in the community.

ACSTO: Championing Affordable Christian Education in Arizona Through Tax Credits
Since its inception in 1998, the Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization (ACSTO) has been a pioneering force in providing scholarships to students seeking a Christian education in Arizona.
Leveraging the Private School Tax Credit Program, ACSTO enables Arizona taxpayers to allocate a portion of their state income tax towards scholarships, effectively offering a dollar-for-dollar tax credit.
With partnerships extending to over 130 Christian schools, ACSTO's contributions have been monumental, allocating over $352 million in scholarships to more than 46,000 students with support from over 99,000 taxpayers.
The organization's efforts have significantly eased the financial burden on families desiring a Christian education for their children, with the 2023 tax year allowing donations up to $2,609 for married couples and $1,307 for single filers.
ACSTO stands as a beacon of hope for families across Arizona, championing the right to educational choice and the pursuit of a fulfilling Christian educational journey for their children.
