The festivities commence with the Gilbert Global Village Festival on April 6 at the Gilbert Civic Center Lawn, where attendees can immerse themselves in a rich tapestry of global cultures from 9 AM to 2 PM.

The day continues with Gilbert Fire & Rescue's April Pools Day at the Mesquite Aquatic Center, offering families a cool retreat with free swimming, fun activities, and vital water safety lessons from 11 AM to 2 PM.

Film enthusiasts are in for a treat with Gilbert Cinemas' Movies in the Park every Friday from April 12 through May 24 at Gilbert Regional Park. The free outdoor movie screenings start at 6:30 PM, featuring beloved family films.

Adding a touch of inclusivity, the S.A.F.E. Public Safety Day on April 13 aims to build bridges between first responders and the special needs community with interactive experiences at the Gilbert Public Safety Facility from 9 AM to 1 PM.

Environmental consciousness takes center stage at the Earth and Arbor Day Celebration on April 18 at McQueen Park Activity Center, where the community can engage in sustainable living activities from 10 AM to noon.

Anglers, both novice and experienced, will enjoy the Badges and Bobbers event on April 20, a free fishing day with expert advice from the Arizona Game & Fish Department.

The month culminates with Mayor Brigette Peterson's 2024 State of the Town on April 23 at 6 PM in the Gilbert Town Hall - Council Chambers, offering insights into Gilbert's growth and future plans.

This diverse array of events not only showcases Gilbert's commitment to fostering a strong, engaged, and informed community but also reflects the town's vibrant cultural landscape and dedication to public safety and environmental stewardship.

Banana Bonanza: Gilbert’s Heritage District Unveils New Interactive Public Art

"Slip into Spring" is a unique and immersive public art installation coming to Gilbert’s Heritage District, offering a whimsical banana-themed rest stop for visitors to enjoy.

Created in collaboration with LeMonde Studios, this interactive art piece stands tall at 8 feet by 13 feet and features seating arrangements that invite relaxation and social interaction.

Alongside the physical art, the installation includes a musical component — a mushroom crank-powered music box playing a tune that captures the essence of the Southwestern spirit, courtesy of the Gilbert Symphony Orchestra.

The Town of Gilbert aims to enhance community engagement and visitor experience in the district with this installation, encouraging guests to share their encounters on social media and explore the local offerings promoted on the town's tourism website. "Slip into Spring" will be available for public enjoyment from April 1 to May 2.

Dine for a Cause: Mesquite Fresh Street Mex's April Campaign Supports Autism Community

April marks Autism Acceptance Month, and to celebrate, Mesquite Fresh Street Mex, a locally operated Mexican restaurant, is launching a month-long initiative to raise funds for the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC).

This initiative allows customers to contribute to a vital cause that supports individuals with autism and their families through research and services. To participate, patrons simply need to mention "SARRC" when they order in person or enter the same promo code during online transactions.

The proceeds collected from this effort will directly benefit SARRC’s mission, encompassing research activities and the maintenance and development of over twenty distinct programs and services catering to the autism community.

Mesquite Fresh Street Mex, with locations spread throughout Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa, Surprise, and Gilbert, demonstrates its commitment to social responsibility and community support through this campaign.
