New Indictments Issued in the Preston Lord Murder Case: Total Charged Now Six

The Maricopa County Attorney's Office, led by Rachel Mitchell, has announced the indictment of two more individuals in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Preston Lord, bringing the total number of those charged to six.

This latest development in the Queen Creek Halloween party beating that led to Lord's death highlights the relentless efforts of the Queen Creek Police Department and the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in seeking justice.

Charges among the defendants include first-degree murder, second-degree murder, kidnapping, and aggravated robbery, reflecting the severity of the incident.

The investigation, fueled by extensive review of evidence and community cooperation, continues to underscore the commitment of law enforcement to holding those responsible accountable, offering some solace to the Lord family amid their profound loss.

Free Shuttles to Ease Parking Woes at Chandler's 34th Ostrich Festival

The 34th annual Ostrich Festival in Chandler faces a unique challenge this year due to construction at Tumbleweed Park, where new softball diamonds are being developed.

This construction has resulted in the loss of approximately 3,000 parking spaces, prompting organizers to arrange shuttle services from Chandler Gilbert Community College and the Downtown Chandler Parking Garage to the festival grounds.

The festival, known for celebrating the city’s rich history linked to ostrich farming, spans two weekends, featuring a diverse array of musical talents including Shaggy, Big & Rich, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Yung Gravy, Chris Lane, and Wynonna Judd.

In addition to musical acts, the festival will host a variety of entertainment options and attractions, including performances by The Flying Royals and the Off Axis Stunt team, pig races, an ostrich experience, carnival rides, and food vendors.

The ongoing park enhancements aim to enrich community amenities without diminishing the festival's appeal, with shuttle services ensuring attendees enjoy convenient access to the event.
