Justice, Not Vigilantism: Gilbert's Stance on Doxxing and Teen Violence
In a recent address to the public, Gilbert Police Chief Michael Soelberg highlighted a troubling trend related to incidents of teen violence in the community: the doxxing of individuals believed to be involved. During his weekly news conference on February 22, Soelberg emphasized the department's commitment to justice while expressing concern over vigilante actions that compromise individuals' safety and privacy.
The Gilbert Police Department has investigated eight instances of doxxing, which involves the malicious publishing of personal information online to facilitate harassment. These investigations have led to two arrests, specifically targeting individuals who disclosed the home address of a family mistakenly associated with ongoing teen violence cases. This disclosure resulted in unwarranted harassment towards the innocent new homeowners.
Soelberg's briefing also touched upon the broader challenges of addressing group assault cases, including the meticulous process of evidence review, from video analysis to interviewing all parties involved. The chief reassured the public that arrests have been made in all instances where both victims and suspects could be clearly identified, although efforts to identify additional victims or suspects continue.
The police chief's comments come in the wake of increased public interest and concern following incidents of teen violence in Gilbert. In a bid to foster community cooperation, Soelberg shared instances from a February 15 news conference where the police sought assistance in identifying victims and suspects from shared photos and videos. This plea for public help has since led to the successful identification of two victims involved in a specific assault case.
Addressing concerns over potential retaliation against those who come forward, Soelberg assured the community of the police department's dedication to victim protection, encouraging residents to report crimes without fear.

The Art of Meat: Gilbert Butchery's Commitment to Quality and Community
In the culinary landscape of Gilbert, Gilbert Butchery emerges as a testament to quality, craftsmanship, and a deep-rooted passion for serving the community with the finest meats and more. Founded by Dan Roosevelt, a veteran butcher with decades of experience in the Valley's supermarkets, Gilbert Butchery opened its doors in 2019, on Val Vista Drive and Warner Road, bringing a long-held dream to fruition.
A Dream Realized
Dan's journey into the world of butchery was driven by a desire for greater customer service and a personal touch in meat selection, something he found lacking in his previous roles. With the support of his wife, Krista, who left her marketing job to join the venture, Gilbert Butchery was born out of a commitment to offering the best meats, sourced from across the country, and a variety of homemade specialties.
Sourcing the Best, Serving the Best
Priding itself on sourcing the finest beef from Minnesota, chicken from Georgia, and pork from Oklahoma, Gilbert Butchery ensures every cut meets the highest standards of quality and taste. Beyond traditional offerings, the butcher shop boasts an impressive variety of dry-aged beef, specialty meats like bison, Wagyu, rabbit, and even hard-to-find items like frog legs and pheasant, catering to the diverse palates of its clientele.
More Than Just a Meat Shop
What sets Gilbert Butchery apart is not just its exceptional meat selection but its dedication to creating a comprehensive culinary experience. From beer brats made in partnership with 12 West Brewing to a wide array of salads, steakhouse potatoes, and homemade pet food, the shop offers everything needed for a memorable meal. The commitment to keeping prices reasonable, despite the temptation to raise them, underscores Dan's dedication to customer satisfaction and community service.
Customer Loyalty and Expansion Plans
The loyalty of Gilbert Butchery's customers is a testament to its quality and service. With a growing base of patrons who rave about the taste and tenderness of its meats, the shop has become a beloved part of the Gilbert and Chandler food scene. The Roosevelts' recent move to Queen Creek and plans for expanding their business reflect their ambition to share their passion for high-quality meats and homemade specialties with even more of Arizona's communities.
