Gilbert Public Schools Considers Ban on Cell Phone Use to Boost Student Well-being
In response to increasing concerns about the impact of cell phone use on student well-being and academic success, Gilbert Public Schools is considering a ban on cell phone use during school hours.
Championed by Board member Chad Thompson, this initiative is driven by data suggesting negative consequences of prolonged cell phone use among teens. While the district currently has a policy restricting cell phone use during instructional time, enforcement inconsistencies and varying campus rules have prompted a reevaluation.
Some schools allow restricted use as a reward or instructional tool, highlighting the diverse approaches to technology within the district. Superintendent Dr. Shane McCord mentioned that a comprehensive policy review will be conducted, aiming to balance educational goals with the realities of enforcing such a ban.
The discussion also touched on potential changes to the lunch period structure to mitigate disciplinary issues, with plans to revisit this topic in future meetings.
Gilbert Launches Spring Training Programs for Professional Development and Tech Sales
Gilbert is reinforcing its commitment to local workforce development through partnerships with the Maricopa County Community College District and Elevate, a workforce accelerator. The town is offering two distinct training programs tailored to enhance the professional capabilities of its residents and local employees.
The Professional Skills program, a free, self-paced online course, aims to improve soft skills through a comprehensive module-based curriculum.
Concurrently, the tech sales training course, developed in collaboration with Elevate, seeks to prepare residents for careers in the rapidly growing tech sales sector. The next training course starts Feb 21.
Both programs reflect Gilbert's strategic approach to economic development, providing valuable resources for personal and professional growth.

Keystone Law Firmâs Team
In the bustling communities of Gilbert and Chandler, the Keystone Law Firm emerges as a guiding light for those navigating through some of lifeâs most daunting legal challenges. Founded on the premise that law should be an instrument of help rather than a source of confusion, this firm has redefined the essence of legal assistance, transforming it into a journey of problem-solving and genuine support.
A Course Correction in Law
The inception of Keystone Law Firm is rooted in a profound self-realization by its founder during his early days in law school. Confronted with the fear of becoming "one of those lawyers" his wife warned him about, he embarked on a mission to rediscover what he truly valued about the law. It wasn't the debates, the statutes, or the prestige of a degree, but the profound satisfaction derived from helping friends and family through their most stressful life events. This realization paved the way for a law firm that prioritizes walking alongside its clients, ensuring they never feel alone in their legal battles.
Demystifying the Legal Process
Keystone Law Firm operates on the belief that the complexities of the law shouldn't deter anyone from seeking justice or resolution. The firm acknowledges the overwhelming nature of legal jargon and procedures, especially for those dealing with emotionally taxing situations such as family deaths or litigation. By dedicating itself to thorough research and client-focused problem-solving, Keystone Law Firm strives to make the law accessible and comprehensible to all.
Solving Real Problems With Real Solutions
At its core, Keystone Law Firm transcends the traditional role of legal counseling, positioning itself as a problem solver. The firm's commitment to providing real solutions to real problems has established its reputation as the last resort for those who have exhausted all other avenues. Whether it's estate planning, trusts, or navigating complex legal hurdles, clients can expect to meet not just an attorney, but a dedicated problem solver committed to their cause.
A Compassionate Approach to Legal Care
The personal approach adopted by Keystone Law Firm is encapsulated in its open invitation to anyone facing tough decisions about their family's future. With a promise of a free, no-obligation case evaluation, the firm stands ready to tailor its expertise to each family's unique situation and goals. It's this level of personalized care and attention that has endeared Keystone Law Firm to the Gilbert and Chandler communities.
