Gilbert's Water Future: North Plant Reconstruction to Enhance Supply Reliability
In Gilbert, Arizona, a critical infrastructure project is underway at the North Water Treatment Plant, located at Higley and Guadalupe roads. This facility, vital for treating up to 45 million gallons of water daily from the Salt and Verde rivers for north Gilbert's 144,000 residents and businesses, is undergoing a comprehensive reconstruction.
Jeanne Jensen, the Gilbert Capital Projects Supervisor, highlighted the necessity of this project due to the plant's compromised structural integrity, a result of substandard construction practices in the 1990s and the evolving challenges of meeting state and federal water-quality regulations.
The project, with an estimated cost of $677 million, is a response not only to the immediate need for structural repairs but also to ensure the plant's capacity to meet the growing population's demands and stricter environmental standards.
This significant investment in Gilbert's water infrastructure aims to secure a sustainable water supply for the future, despite the rising costs attributed to inflation and the competitive construction market in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Tattooing with a Purpose: Gilbert Artist Transforms Skin Art into Charitable Giving
Caleb Wayne Hail, a Gilbert-based tattoo artist, has channeled his passion for ink and skin into a force for good through his nonprofit, TattooCharity.com.
Partnering with local organizations like State Forty Eight Foundation, Hail has raised nearly $50,000 for charity by offering unique Arizona-inspired tattoos. His journey from drawing at an early age to becoming a professional tattoo artist has taken him across the United States, but it's his commitment to community and philanthropy that stands out.
Hail's mother, who passed away from brain cancer, inspired his philanthropic efforts. Despite her initial reservations about tattoos, she became one of his biggest supporters, even receiving tattoos from him. Hail's story is a testament to the evolution of tattoos from rebellious symbols to expressions of personal narratives and community support.
Taco H Brings Fusion of Mexican Cuisine and Sushi to Gilbert with New Location
Taco H has broadened its culinary horizons with the opening of a second location in Gilbert on December 12, situated at 835 S. Gilbert Road, suite 104.
This new outlet seeks to bring the distinct flavors of Hermosillo-style Mexican food combined with sushi to a wider audience, following the success of its first location in Ahwatukee. The restaurant's innovative menu bridges the gap between traditional Mexican dishes and the intricate art of sushi, offering a unique dining experience that stands out in the local food scene.
With the expansion, Taco H not only aims to cater to its loyal customers but also to attract new patrons intrigued by its fusion cuisine. The establishment's presence on social media, particularly Instagram, provides updates and insights into their offerings, encouraging food enthusiasts to explore what Taco H has to offer.
