Maricopa County Announces Indictment of 18-Year-Old in Connection with Gilbert Assault

Christopher Fantastic, an 18-year-old man, has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of aggravated robbery and assault, as announced by Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell.

The indictment is linked to an incident at a Gilbert fast-food restaurant in August, where Fantastic allegedly assaulted a victim who was on the ground. Additionally, Fantastic faces charges for his involvement in a separate assault in Mesa, which occurred near Val Vista Drive and Southern Avenue in May. This earlier incident involved a large group of juveniles and young adults, and video evidence along with witness accounts led to Fantastic's identification as a suspect.

Mesa Police Department had initially responded to the scene in May, but participants scattered and provided no information about the attack. Fantastic was already in custody on unrelated charges when connected to the May assault. Maricopa County residents are reminded that the registration deadline for the upcoming Presidential Preference Election (PPE) is rapidly approaching. To vote in the PPE scheduled for March 19, residents must be registered by February 20.
