Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert Expands with New Concert Hall Featuring Tribute Concert Series
Hale Centre Theatre, known for its theater-in-the-round in Gilbert, is undergoing a transformation as it converts its dance studio into a 155-seat concert hall. The initiative, led by owner Dave Dietlein, aims to meet the growing town's need for a live music venue.
The venue's concert series kicks off with "The Beatles: A Music Celebration" from January 11-27, featuring tribute concerts by visiting musicians. Dave Dietlein has enlisted the expertise of his cousin, Benjamin Hale, a seasoned musician and recording engineer from Nashville, to manage and present the concerts.
Benjamin Hale, a singer and guitarist, brings extensive musical experience, including six years in the Venetian Hotelâs Las Vegas production of "The Phantom of the Opera." The success of a temporary concert series prompted the decision to develop a permanent concert series alongside the ongoing venue renovation.
This marks the third remodel for Hale Centre Theatre since its establishment in 2003. The new concert space is strategically located in downtown Gilbert, sharing a building with the main theatre. The venue's transformation involves converting the dance studio into an intimate setting with a state-of-the-art sound system, a high ceiling, and 155 comfortable chairs.
The concert series distinguishes itself by avoiding impersonation and instead focuses on honoring the music, celebrating artists from the '50s, '60s, and '70s, covering rock 'n' roll, country, and folk genres. Benjamin Hale plans to introduce original music, including his album "See It Through," recorded with Grammy Award-winning artist Mark Neill, featuring folk, country, and rock songs inspired by the twilight zone and urban legends.
House of Refuge Announces Sixth Annual Gala: The AACT Night of a Million Dreams
The Sixth Annual Gala, titled "The AACT Night of a Million Dreams," hosted by House of Refuge, Inc., is scheduled for April 13, 2024, at The DoubleTree by Hilton in Mesa.
AZ Quality Services & Staffing and Amazon are presenting the event, which serves as the agency's primary fundraising initiative. Attendees can anticipate a night filled with activities such as a cocktail hour, gourmet dinner, live and silent auctions, a gift card frenzy, wine and bourbon bottle pull, and entertainment.
The Gala's purpose is to gather friends and colleagues to support homeless families, with a focus on the House of Refuge transitional housing program. This program aids more than 450 individuals annually, predominantly single mothers and survivors of domestic violence, guiding them toward stable housing.
House of Refuge President and CEO Kayla Kolar emphasizes the shared dream among program participants â to graduate from the initiative into chosen stable housing and break free from homelessness permanently.
Gala tickets are priced at $200, and limited sponsorship opportunities are available, along with the need for additional prize and auction item donations. For inquiries related to the Gala, individuals can reach out to Michelle Francis, the assistant development director, at [email protected] or 480-245-6597.
