Saddle Up for Gilbert Days: A Weekend Honoring Western Traditions

Gilbert's western heritage takes center stage this weekend during the annual Gilbert Days celebration, featuring a variety of signature events. The festivities kick off with the Gilbert Days Rodeo at Queen Creek’s Horseshoe Park and Equestrian Centre from Nov. 17-19, offering thrilling displays of horsemanship and traditional rodeo competitions.

On Saturday, Nov. 18, the town will host the Gilbert Days Parade in the Heritage District, with this year's theme being "Rock and Roll." The parade promises a nostalgic journey through Gilbert's history, featuring diverse entries, including Gilbert Fire & Rescue’s new electric fire truck and performances by marching bands. The parade sets the stage for the family-friendly Gilbert Days Festival at Gilbert Regional Park on Nov. 18-19, offering music, local shopping, and a carnival with 17 rides.

The rodeo, organized by the Gilbert Promotional Corporation, has evolved into a grand event, attracting professional cowboys and cowgirls from Arizona and beyond. The Lil Dudes Rodeo, featuring mutton bustin’ and barrel racing, adds a delightful touch for younger audiences. A free dance with live entertainment by Western Fusion and a vibrant carnival with 17 rides ensure a lively atmosphere.

Gilbert Days Rodeo Princess Bryton Bradshaw, alongside Queen Shai Forman and Teen Queen Kialyn Armstrong, will lead the Gilbert Days Parade. Bryton, a passionate horsewoman at 14, has spent the year promoting the rodeo and participating in community events like Kicking up Kindness. She embodies the spirit of horsemanship, mastering various rodeo events.

Despite the challenges of a growing population and development, Gilbert Days serves as a vital link to the area's western traditions. The celebration encompasses a series of events, including runs/walks associated with the Shun the Sun Foundation on Nov. 18.

Road Closures Alert: Gilbert Days Parade to Transform Downtown Heritage District

On Saturday, November 18, the Gilbert Days Parade will bring a lively spectacle to Downtown Heritage District, resulting in a temporary road closure along Gilbert Road. From 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Gilbert Road, spanning from Guadalupe Road to Hackamore Street, will be inaccessible. Additionally, Elliot Road will experience closures at the intersection with Gilbert Road between Burk and Ash Streets.

The parade participants will assemble on both sides of Gilbert Road, between Juniper Avenue and Guadalupe Road, as well as in the parking lots of the southeast and southwest shopping centers at the intersection of Gilbert and Guadalupe Roads.

At 8:30 AM, the parade will commence its journey southward on Gilbert Road, culminating at the Gilbert Public Schools District Office, just south of Elliot Road, around 10:30 AM. The road closure is expected to lift by 11:00 AM.

Despite these closures, businesses along Gilbert Road are encouraged to remain open. Prospective visitors should verify operating hours and parking options beforehand for a seamless experience.

Ilai, 9, and his dad were waiting to cross at the intersection near Coronado Street and Ray Road when two cars collided; one went off the street and hit them.

Happy Tails Barkery: Crafting Canine Delights From Farm to Treat Jar

In the heart of Arizona, where the sun kisses the desert landscape, there's a business that's been quietly crafting happiness for our four-legged friends. Happy Tails Barkery, a haven for canine treats, doesn't just believe in spoiling dogs; they believe in doing it right. With a commitment to quality ingredients, Happy Tails Barkery has been whipping up wholesome delights for our furry companions for the past 11 years.

The journey of Happy Tails Barkery began with a simple yet powerful idea: to provide dogs with treats that are not only delicious but also healthy. Faced with the frustration of reading labels filled with unfamiliar ingredients and recalls in the pet food industry, the founders decided to take matters into their own hands. Out of that passion and love for dogs, Happy Tails Barkery was born.

"At Happy Tails Barkery, we take the happiness of your doggos very seriously. We understand that some dogs have food allergies and do best when their treats contain minimal, high-quality ingredients," says the team at Happy Tails Barkery.

What sets them apart is their dedication to crafting treats that not only make tails wag but also meet the highest standards of quality. The treats are made from the best ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible. Most of their delightful nom-noms are Grain and/or Gluten Free, and they take pride in using a limited number of ingredients in each recipe. Transparency is key, and every label lists the ingredients, along with the guaranteed analysis, so pet parents know exactly what their best friends are enjoying at snack time.

Happy Tails Barkery goes beyond treats; they offer cakes, frostings, and icings that are all-natural, containing no added sugars or preservatives. The commitment to wholesome goodness extends to every product they create.

Their slogan, "guaranteed to make their tails wag," is not just a catchy phrase; it's a promise that every treat is crafted with love and dedication to ensure the happiness of every dog.

The team here expresses gratitude to their amazing customers and supporters, recognizing that seeing them at markets on Saturdays is the driving force behind their passion. The business also extends its offerings to bulk and wholesale options, spreading the joy of healthy treats to more furry friends.

As Happy Tails Barkery continues to delight dogs across Arizona, their message resonates: "They're not just pets...they're family!" The commitment to this belief is the driving force behind every treat crafted at Happy Tails Barkery.

To treat your furry family members to the joy of Happy Tails Barkery, visit their website at www.happytailsbarkeryaz.com or catch them at a local market. Because for Happy Tails Barkery, happiness is a treat best shared with the entire dog-loving community.
