The Clement's garage in Gilbert, the town's oldest business, is set for a transformation into retail and restaurant spaces. The 1920 building will be preserved with a modern renovation, offering adaptive reuse in a town with limited opportunities for such creative developments.

The single-story building will house a retailer and restaurant, retaining the building's historical facades and featuring outdoor seating reminiscent of 1930s-era fueling stations.

The project has just completed its first review and is expected to return for formal action in December or January, with plans to maintain the town's heritage in a modern setting.

In just one year, St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) has made remarkable progress towards its goal of rehousing 2,025 homeless individuals by 2025, with 60% of the goal achieved. They've successfully moved 1,289 people into permanent housing, exceeding their target.

SVdP's Housing 2025 initiative addresses Arizona's homelessness crisis by focusing on moving people into permanent homes, increasing their rehousing rate, and inspiring community support.

This effort involves shelters, transitional housing, resource centers, and dining rooms, working together to find suitable housing solutions. SVdP remains committed to this vital mission, emphasizing that there's more work to be done until homelessness is eradicated.

Birdcall, the Community-Focused Eatery, Lands in Gilbert on Nov. 8!

Birdcall, a Denver-based restaurant, is opening a new location in Gilbert on November 8. They offer natural crispy chicken sandwiches, salads, tenders, and more, including vegan and gluten-free options.

Birdcall donates 1% of its sales to the community, and for the opening, they will support Winged Hope, an organization working to prevent family violence. They're also offering a special discount for veterans on November 10 and $1 sandwiches on November 9 to celebrate National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day.
