Gilbert Invests in School Safety: SROs and Mental Health Support

The Gilbert Town Council is set to vote on School Safety Programs, including funding for School Resource Officers (SROs) at Mesquite High School and Mesquite Junior High School. They are also considering an agreement with the Chandler Unified School District for schools within the city.

Gilbert Public Schools already has seven SROs and invested in social workers and mental health counselors. Additionally, the council will discuss increasing the hourly cost of hiring off-duty police officers for events and private security in the future.

Gilbert's CLEAN(er) Beauty Shop Puts a Spotlight on Sustainable, Chemical-Free Beauty

Tracey Trellis Flores, a makeup artist and skin therapist, opened CLEAN(er) Beauty Shop in Gilbert, focusing on healthy ingredients in beauty products due to a lack of regulations and transparency in the cosmetic industry.

She's concerned about the use of harmful chemicals in beauty products and their impact on health and the environment. Some brands mis-categorize ingredients to avoid disclosure.

Trellis Flores aims to promote clean beauty and educate consumers about ingredient transparency and sustainability. CLEAN(er) Beauty Shop offers various treatments and services, emphasizing education and curated, tested products.

James Conner's Early-Season Surge: Can He Keep Up the Pace for the Cardinals?

Well, well, well, looks like the Arizona Cardinals have found themselves a workhorse running back in the form of James Conner. You know, those rare breed of players who carry the pigskin more times than your aunt carries her oversized purse. But hey, don't get too comfy, because the Cards' running back room is currently emptier than my fridge on a Monday morning.

As of now, the Cardinals have exactly three options at running back: Conner, Keaontay Ingram, and Emari Demercado. And they've been saying, "Conner, you're the chosen one!" Early on, Conner has been shouldering the load like a mule carrying gold through the desert.

Offensive coordinator Drew Petzing chimed in, saying, "We are going to ride the hot hand," which is great and all, but it's like choosing your favorite ice cream flavor when you only have three to pick from. "I'll take the Conner Crunch, please."

In just two games, Conner has been averaging a whopping 21 touches per game. If we extrapolate that over a full 17-game season, he'd be on pace for 357 touches, easily beating his career-high of 270. But, hold your horses (or in this case, your Conners), because the man has a history of missing a few games here and there. In fact, he's been MIA for about three games per season on average during his career.

Conner did manage to rush for over 100 yards in his last game, but that happened before they even hit the third quarter. After that, it was as if he'd been carrying a sack of potatoes instead of a football.

Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado? Well, they've had their moments, but it's safe to say they're not stealing the spotlight just yet. Veteran Corey Clement is lurking on the practice squad, but he's been as active as a sloth on a sunny day.

So, what's the plan here? According to Petzing, it's a mix of strategies. They're like, "This play is Conner's jam, let's get him in there," or "Conner's gassed, let's give him a breather and toss in the other guys." It's all about balance, like trying to juggle bowling balls and flaming torches while riding a unicycle. Just another day in the NFL.
